This is a brief review of the Doubletree in Amsterdam Central. The hotel is close to the main train station in Amsterdam (where international trains arrive and you can catch the train to the airport). However the entrance is at the other end of the hotel to the train station, needlessly extending the walk (a pain when dragging large suitcases). We got a canal facing room so the view was good. But the room was small (typical of Europe), the bathroom was small (but functional) and there was weird Apple iMac based TV system. Internet was decent. Breakfast in the Executive Lounge (I had Hilton Gold status at the time) was serviceable. The hotel noticed that it was my birthday and gave us some coupons to the rooftop bar. The view from the top was spectacular and it was equipped with blankets and heaters to counter the chilly fall evenings in Amsterdam.
